From Signs to Form

A look inside the reduction process that turns photographs, type fragments and street observations into the Harmoni visual language.

From Signs to Form
01

Collect without deciding

Early research is intentionally messy. We photograph surfaces, packaging, transit lines and handwritten notices without asking how they will become a product. Patterns only appear after the collection has room to breathe.

02

Find the recurring gesture

The studio wall slowly reveals repeated shapes and contrasts. Those repetitions become a working grammar: a line weight, a face, a colour relationship or a certain amount of empty space.

03

Remove until it holds

The final step is reduction. A reference should survive simplification without becoming generic. When a form feels inevitable and still carries the original mood, it is ready to move into material.
